In my painting titled “Warped In Time”, I express the distortion of time through both the optical illusion in the background and the emotions conveyed on my face. The background in motion signifies the unpredictable nature of time during grief, while my hands covering my ears suggest a desire to control or escape its overwhelming flow. This distortion serves as a personal metaphor, illustrating how grief alters my perception of time, elongating, suspending, or fragmenting it. This distortion intensifies the emotional weight of loss, creating a nuanced exploration of time’s impact on my grieving experience.
